The Story of Us

• Where they met...

  June 2013, San Diego, California was the beginning for them. They each sacrificed a chunk of their lifestyle to attend a huge scooter rally for a week. Tony sold a vintage scooter and had his scooter hitch a ride with his friend, Aurora. Heather used up her last bit of spending money before starting a new college semester and flew to the rally with some of the San Francisco Scooter Girls.

   

  

   

  How they met...

  They first had a brief conversation while parking their scooters on a ride break in Escondido. At the end of the ride, Tony brought over a souvenir ride pin to Heather and Stephanie Long. The next day, a group of around 120 scooters rode to Mexico for the day from Tijuana, down Baja to Puerto Nuevo, coming back through Tecate.

  As soon as they rode inland, temperatures reached 116° at the Tecate, Mexico border! No bueno for air-cooled scooters. Shortly after arriving back to the hotel, Heather and Tony ran into each other in the hallway between their hotel rooms. Heather invited Tony out for a cool down swim with the San Francisco Scooter Girls. Tony, of course, quickly obliged and met Heather by the elevators (in less than 2 minutes) wearing their coincidentally matching moped shirts. (Reminder- scooters are NOT mopeds). They swam in the pool, for the rest of the afternoon, bonding over their love of 2-wheeled transportation and music while Erin Rooney and Penni Gladstone kindly order them a gin and tonic and left them be.

   

  What happened afterwards?

  Heather and Tony were inseparable for the rest of the trip.

   

  

   

  Tony moved his flight back so he could spend a few more hours with Heather and they made plans to see each other as soon as they got back since Heather lived in San Francisco and Tony lived in Sacramento. It has been a super RAD journey so far….Since that trip Heather has moved to Sacramento and the story continues.
